The founders of OASIS framed it to strengthen the friendship and unity of Orthopaedic surgeons of South Indian states, so as to get proper representation of us, in IOA. Which is dominated by ‘North Indian lobby’. Even after 23 years, It is still an enigma. As of now, OASIS works just like any other Orthopaedic Association, conducting meetings, CMEs, fellowships etc.

In the present scenario of IOA and it’s chaos, I feel it’s high time to show our power. As you know the power of any association is based on its membership strength. We must encourage increasing our state as well as our TOA membership. And that is not enough, we must use our voting power to elect our own candidate from south as IOA President and Secretary. I don’t think it is impossible.

Annual conference is the best platform to share our ideas and enrich our Orthopaedic knowledge. Please attend our annual Conference in Pondicherry and our general body meetings in large numbers, so that we can take better and stronger decisions.
